Why are you putting yourself down? Try to be positive when presenting your artwork. :) You have a right to be because I think this is a pretty cool piece. Your hero is cute, and I like the style. I'm not sure I like how "flat" the composition is (compare to Becca's). And the silhouette of the man on the left needs more work. Overall, good effort.
Casey, I love how well-designed the background characters are! Cool style. On the green guy, I think the pink line on his arm confuses me a little. I would think it needs more or none at all. Also, maybe his face could pop a little more if there were a little more value/color contrast with the background.
Wow! I really like this guys gessture and action. It really says a lot about his personality. Good job using his gesstures and the colors to make him stand out so much from the backgroud.
Cool. Very Al Hirschfeld-esque. I just want to see a cartoon of this, with those background characters repeating over and over as they pass. A silent cartoon, with piano music in the background. Like rapsodhy in blue in Fantasia 2000. Anyone else know what I'm talkin about?
Love...you would win my favorite post of the week. I especially love the girls legs behind the super hero.. Those are some sweet heels. I think you could create a little more depth. Maybe have a few more background objects to pull you more into the picture plan or change the perspective.
Thanks! I want to redo this when I have a bit more skill. For instance his legs are all bumpy and there was an awkward tangent with his face and the bosom(chest) of the woman behind him, not to mention the depth problems and the line. I'll keep learning and maybe have a redo done by the end of the semester. Thanks again for all the helpful comments!
I really like this piece, it has a nice energy in it. As far as the colors go I actually think that they go along with the pose, it adds to the akwardness of the superhero. Kind of like the guy wants to be dynamic but doesn't know what the heck he is doing and the colors help imply that. I don't know if that is what you are going for but that is what I got out of it.
Great image. The only part that bugs me though is where his fist is located in comparison to the silloette behind him, It goes right at the man's chest as if he were gonna punch him or something.
I met the man of my dreams, got married, had the cutest little cherub of a baby girl, and moved to North Dakota. My prince charming is very supportive of my art career and I finally have a studio space I can't wait to use. This means more artwork is forthcoming not to mention pictures of my sweet baby. Copyrights of all artwork belong to Casey Wigginton unless otherwise noted.
